Manual The page of a staging environment.
Eight tabs: "Overview" shows the state and everything you can start; "General", "Data", "Setup", "Protection" and "Schedule" hold the settings; "Comparison" and "Runs" show what happened.
State, tiles, runs.
At the top a sentence about the state, below the address and four tiles: "Data from", "Size", "Valid until" and "Access". The runs are grouped by what they do: "Changes the staging environment", "Only reads" and "Removes the staging environment".
"Save" writes all tabs at once. What you save in the tab "Protection", plus the expiry date, applies at once, in the built copy too; everything else from the next build or refresh. While a run is open, all fields are locked.
Every field, in brief.
Once the staging environment is built, name, address, database, data and setup are fixed; they can be changed after "Tear down staging environment", and the settings stay.
| Tab | Field or card | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| General | Name | The plugin forms directory, address, database name and default user from it, as long as you do not set them yourself. |
| General | Mode | "Subdirectory" in the staging folder of the live shop or "Own path" outside it, with an address of its own. |
| General | Address of the staging environment | The plugin rewrites the domains of all sales channels to it. |
| General | Reachability | Shows what lies in the web root, tries the ways on the server with "Check now" and shows the location block under nginx. |
| General | Database | Create a new one or choose an existing empty one, access as the live shop or with own credentials, "Check connection". |
| Data | Anonymize using rules | Replaces personal data while copying by the shared rule set. |
| Data | Tables | Per area a switch whether content is taken over; additional tables one by one. |
| Setup | Extensions | Every plugin and app on or off, in the copy only; "Disable all". |
| Setup | Services of the live shop | Search, queue, reverse proxy, Redis, Google Analytics: share or separate; a notice about files in the cloud. |
| Setup | Admin users | Every user of the live shop active or inactive, in the copy only. |
| Setup | Post actions, Advanced, System configuration | Commands at the end, four switches, settings for the copy only. |
| Protection | Password page | A password in front of storefront, administration or both; "Show credentials", "Set new password". |
| Protection | Default administration user | An administrator only in the copy, for an agency for instance. |
| Protection | Maintenance mode | Shopware's maintenance mode for all sales channels, open to the IP addresses under "Allowed IP addresses". |
| Protection | What the staging environment may do outward | Scheduled tasks, calls of apps and webhooks, mails. |
| Schedule | Schedule | Refresh or rebuild, daily, weekly or monthly on the hour. |
| Schedule | Lifetime | "Limit the lifetime" with "Valid until"; afterwards the copy locks itself. |
What happened.
- Comparison
- "Start comparison" or "Compare again"; head with figures, four tiles by side, lists for extensions and settings, content, files and database structure.
- Runs
- Every run, the newest on top, with "Started", "Run", "Started by" (administration, schedule or console), "Status" and "Duration". "Show" opens it in the run window.
What it is all for
The manual says where something sits in the administration. Why it is like that and what it brings day to day is explained on the topic pages.
